juSFEM: A Julia-based open-source package of parallel Smoothed Finite Element Method (S-FEM) for elastic problems

The Smoothed Finite Element Method (S-FEM) proposed by Liu G.R. can achieve more accurate results than the conventional FEM. Currently, much commercial software and many open-source packages have been developed to analyze various science engineering problems using However, there is little work focusing on designing developing or for S-FEM. In this paper, we design implement an package of parallel S-FEM elastic utilizing Julia language multi-core CPU. a fast, easy-to-use, programming that was originally designed high-performance computing. We term our as juSFEM. To best authors’ knowledge, juSFEM first with language. verify correctness evaluate efficiency juSFEM, two groups benchmark tests are conducted. show (1) when compared FEM ABAQUS, (2) only requires 543 s calculate displacements 3D cantilever beam model which composed approximately 2 million tetrahedral elements, while in contrast needs 930 same calculation model; (3) executed 24-core CPU 20× faster corresponding serial version. Moreover, structure function easily modularized, code clear readable, convenient further development.
